From, the time we are born, we are used to hearing from our parents and grandparents that people were more active and healthier in their days. In fact, a majority of us agree with them, however, we ignore one crucial element that had a key role in keeping our ancestors healthy- one of the most underrated exercises, merely a movement of the feet, well, you guessed it right- I am talking about WALKING!!!

The Sedentary Curse

People walked a lot, not as a exercise, but as a part of their regular routine. A 3-5 kilometers distance used to be a casual walk for many people. Fast forward to 21st century, visiting a place located just 500 meters away; we prefer to hop on to our motor vehicles. If we ponder about our current lifestyle we'll discover that we have become slaves to technology. From daybreak to night, we are surrounded with numerous hi-tech gadgets. As a result, we have become cursed into a sedentary lifestyle.

In this vicious routine we also tend to ingest too many junk varieties of foods. In fact, even to get food we use some application or the other, which brings your favorite junk food to the table. Unfortunately, a sedentary lifestyle messes up our health. The funny part is when you visit a doctor for a health issue he prescribes you a minimum 20-30 minutes of regular exercise (precisely a walk) along with his medication. Interesting, isn't?
